How Jenny and Justin Met

Jenny and Justin met sometime around 2004 (though there are no pictures to corroborate that, so they're not sure that it really happened). They met through their mutual friend, Jeff Fissel. Jeff and Jenny knew each other from high school, while Justin met Jeff at George Mason University.

Jenny and Justin did not know each other very well during college. They only saw each other when Jenny was home on breaks, and even then it seemed like it only happened when the planets were aligned. It wasn't until several years later that the couple was able to spend some real time together and become good friends. Part of the time spent together occurred in 2007 with the country music concert series at Nissan Pavilion. Despite the fact that Justin vehemently dislikes country music, he considers this the best activity he's ever been a part of, since it allowed him to get closer to his bride-to-be.

Around the end of the summer of 2007 Jenny and Justin started to take an increased notice of the other, though it wasn't until around Christmas 2007 that the courtship process began. And on January 12th, 2008 their relationship became “facebook official.”

Email sent to Piantedosi Family

Here is the email Vicki sent out to the Piantedosi Clan.

Hello all,
Thought you might like the highlights of Jenny and Justin's trip to Europe.  Clearly I have too much time on my hands and I'm an awful poet, but it gave me something to do on a Saturday morning!  Enjoy!
Love,Vicki

Off to Europe Jenny and Justin went in a whirl,
Giving Germany, Switzerland, Italy and France a twirl!

Seeing Germany in its splendor on a cruise down the Rhine,
Extolling the sights of castles and landscape as simply divine!

Off to see the Alps covered with snow of crystal white,
They proclaimed the ride up a tram a breathtaking sight!

Following their Swiss adventures and snow covered mountains,
They toured Vatican City and Rome, the land of sparkling fountains!

The perfect end to the trip was Paris for several nights
Charmed by the Eiffel Tower and the twinkling city lights!

Oops, forgot the absolutely most impressive sight,
Their smiles when they arrived home Friday night!

For along their splendid journey Justin proposed and Jenny said yes,
Now they're planning the future and she’s looking for the perfect wedding dress!

Engagement Story (Email to the Fabian Family)

This is the email I sent out to my family to inform them of the grand news!

Hi Everybody!

As you may or may not be aware, I just returned home from a two week trip to Europe.  I went with my girlfriend Jenny to visit my mom in Germany, then we flew to Rome for a few days, then drove to Lucerne and Interlaken, Switzerland, and finally over to Paris.  It was a really amazing trip - my first time off the continent.

Now, I'm not one for souvenirs (I just take tons of pictures - which will be available for your perusal in the somewhat near future), but I did feel the need to pick one very special one up while I was on a cruise on the Rhine River in Germany.  Jenny and I stopped at a town called Rudesheim (sorry for spelling that incorrectly, but I'm not sure how to get the umlaut on the u) at the halfway point of the cruise.  We walked around a bit and found a nice quiet place to sit down.

We reminisced some about when we first started dating and this very awkward fortune cookie I got on our second date.  It said something to the effect of, "An unexpected relationship will become permanent."  I asked Jenny if she remembered it, and of course she did, but she didn't say it quite right.  I felt kind of bad correcting her, and the way that I did it actually made her cry.  But they weren't tears of frustration or anger, they were tears of joy.

The way I corrected her was by taking the ring box out of my pocket, opening it to reveal not only the engagement ring, but the very same fortune I had received on our second date nearly two years ago.

She never actually said yes - but actions speak louder than words, so when she put the ring on and hugged me for dear life I knew I was set.

And so only two days into my two week long trip, I had already picked up a souvenir to trump all souvenirs!

Once we have any details, I'll be sure to share them with you.

Love,

~Justin
